"Poetic Echo"
Where it all began...
“Poetic Echo” - Poetry reading curated by Menotti Lerro at the Velia Archaeological Park
On Friday 8 September 2017, the Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio di Salerno e Avellino, directed by the architect Francesca Casule, together with the Comune di Salento and with the patronage of the Comune di Ascea, organized, at the Archaeological Park of Elea-Velia, the event “Poetic Echo” in the name of beauty, poetry, music.
A few weeks after the 1st Edition of the Cilento National Poetry Award, promoted by the Comune di Salento and awarded to Davide Rondoni, poetry returns to make its voice heard by approaching the most sublime music. Classicism and modernity, poetry and music, sacred and profane, naturalistic landscapes and the self are the themes of the evening.
A reading of verses by Menotti Lerro, creator of the Cilento Poetry Prize, in the setting of the Acropolis of Velia, between the Torre angioina e la Cappella palatina, intertwining poetry with the sound of flautists Chiara Palmieri, Raffaele Palazzo and Francesco Cirillo of the “Giuseppe Martucci” Conservatory of Salerno, who performed music by Bach, Mozart and Debussy. There are events that resonate with infinite sweetness and musicality, echoes that do not fade but continue to hover in the air from one place to another. The evening was also attended by Dr. Maria Tommasa Granese, head of the Velia Archaeological Park, the lawyer Gabriele De Marco, mayor of Salento, and Dr. Rosa Maria Vitola, official of the Soprintendenza ABAP di Salerno e Avellino and promoter of the "Poetic Echo" event, to make an appointment together for the 2018 edition of the Cilento Poetry Prize
